The ingredients needed to make Mutton and Veg Soup:
  1. Prepare 300 gms Mutton (with bone in)
  2. Make ready 250 gms Spinach
  3. Get 1 medium sized onion roughly chopped
  4. Get Fistful of Coriander leaves chopped
  5. Take 1 medium sized potato cut into half (optional)
  6. Get 2 inches ginger
  7. Get 10-12 Garlic cloves roughly crushed
  8. Take 1/4 cup Shelled peas
  9. Make ready 9-10 Beans (just cut the ends only)
  10. Get 1 Carrot cut into small pieces lengthwise
  11. Get 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  12. Make ready as per taste Salt
  13. Make ready 2-3 tbsps Mustard oil (or Veg oil)
  14. Prepare Whole Garam Masala
  15. Get 1 Bay Leaf
  16. Get 2-3 Green Cardamom
  17. Prepare 1 Cinnamon stick
  18. Take 2-3 Cloves
  19. Take As required Few Black peppercorns
  20. Take 1 dollop of Butter (optional)

It is mildly seasoned with pepper. This soup can also be prepared with mutton bones. Mutton soup is delicious and perfect soup for cold climate or winter. This is one of the easy, simple and kids friendly mutton soup.

Instructions to make Mutton and Veg Soup:
  1. Prepare the vegetables as listed. Heat the oil in a pot or kadai and add the whole garam masala first…let it crackle and then add the onion and meat and saute till it browns a bit. Then add the potato and saute & Cook for sometimes. Add salt and turmeric too with little water. Bhunno for sometime…then add 3 cups of water and let it boil & cook covered with a lid.
  2. After 30-40 minutes, add the carrot,beans and coriander and cook futher, add more hot water, I added 6 more cups of hot water in the 1 hour of boiling & cooking.
  3. When the meat and veggies are cooked, add the peas and the spinach and cook for about 10 minutes….check salt and the consistency of the soup you desire. Serve hot with a dollop of butter with hot steam rice. Bon Appetit!!!!
